PROJECT PLAY INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS
Joacă pentru Viaţă (“Play for Life”), a partnership between Aspen Institute Romania, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Ministry of Education, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, and others, implements programs that promote youth physical literacy as a declared national priority for Romania, inspired by Project Play.
The program hosted the inaugural Joacă pentru Viaţă Summit in September 2019. Read Tom Farrey’s column about the event.
In 2020, the partners signed a new protocol, recognizing physical literacy as a new national priority for the Romanian government and sports sector.
Joacă pentru Viaţă also hosted a panel at Bucharest Forum 2020 featuring Tom Farrey alongside Romania’s Minister for Youth and Sport and the President of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Cokmittee. Watch the panel replay here.
Also in 2020, the partners launched Sportul se joacă (“Sport is Play”), an open educational platform with video instructions for 120 easy, free, sport-specific and sport-agnostic games and exercises. The games can be played by adults as well as children, and the video instructions are all nonverbal, so no translation needed! Watch sample videos below and explore the full library here.
